The Opportunity:    Merrick & Company is seeking a Senior I &C Engineer for Fuels & Energy design projects. This highly visible position involves conceptual and detailed design of control systems and instrumentation. This individual will be challenged to perform non-routine assignments and exercise independent judgment and initiative.

Position Title:    Senior I & C Engineer – Fuels & Energy

Reporting To:    Discipline Representative

Location:    Aurora, CO

Responsibilities:

  • Field investigations and construction support
  • Coordinate portions of overall assignments and review, analyze, and approve the work of others
  • Perform a variety of activities including conceptual and detailed design of control systems and instrumentation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with Intergraph InTools
  • DCS and PLC experience required
  • Excellent computer skills especially Microsoft Office – Excel and Word
  • Extensive knowledge on petrochemical processes as well as highly skilled in I&C engineering
  • Experience in control valve sizing and specifying all types of temperature, pressure and flow instrumentation
  • Proficient in valve sizing programs such as Nelprof, Firstvue and InstraCalc
  • Ability to perform P&ID development and review
  • Familiarity with NEC, ISA, IEEE Regulatory Codes
  • Experience in document generation for Instrumentation & Controls
  • Familiarity with SCADA Systems

Other Qualifications:    The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years’ experience. Candidate must have a PE license or the ability to obtain license within first year of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, an active DOE – Q clearance is a plus. U.S. citizenship is required.

Education:    Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering
